River Development, a Romanian company and developer of the Sema Parc Project, announces the obtaining of the BREEAM Excellent certification for the design phase, for two new A-class office buildings in London and Oslo, which are in an advanced construction phase. The certification process was coordinated by BuildGreen, leading consultant in the field of design, development and certification of sustainable buildings across CEE region.
The two A-Class office buildings - London and Oslo - are part of the Sema Parc mixed-function Project, located in the central-western part of the capital and have a gross leasable area of 31,524 square meters (London - 21,347 square meters, Oslo - 10,177 square meters). Both are scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of next year.

The BREEAM certification process for the London and Oslo buildings took place simultaneously with the design and execution. BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the world's longest established method of assessing, rating, and certifying sustainable developments, including buildings, infrastructure projects and masterplanning. Assessment and certification can take place at a number of stages in the built environment life cycle, from design and construction (New Construction) through to operation (In-Use) and Refurbishment.
BREEAM ensures an objective assessment of an asset’s environmental, social and economic sustainability performance, using standards developed by BRE (Building Research Establishment). BREEAM rated developments are more sustainable environments that enhance the well-being of the people who live and work in them, help protect natural resources and make for more attractive property investments.
„London and Olso buildings were the subject of a thorough evaluation and certification process at the design stage, obtaining a BREEAM Excellent level, with a score of 81.0%. From the 7 assessment categories, the two projects were differentiaded by their ecologic value and a higher level of performance in the Land Use chapter, thus reflecting the development strategy of the entire Sema Parc project” – states Răzvan Nica, Managing Director BuildGreen.
River Develoment has delivered over 38,000 square meters of A-Class office space in the last years, as part of the Sema Parc project, through the three A-Class buildings - Bruxelles, Paris and Berlin, all BREEAM certified, with a high score of certification or in the process of certification.
